The Concept of Falkirk Twinning Associations:-
The Falkirk District Twinning Association and The Odenwald Association promote twinning in the Falkirk Council Area.
The General purpose of Twinning is:
to promote friendship and links within the partnerships
to cultivate greater understanding of our twin communities
to help in arranging exchanges and visits
to include as diverse a range of activities and abilities as possible
to help financially, if feasible
to stimulate interest in twinning
to aid communication between interested parties in all areas of activity within the communities
The Associations will continue to act separately as far as their respective twinning areas are concerned.
Activities
Both Associations have encouraged a variety of exchanges and visits over the years and continue to do so. Not everyone is involved in traveling to the Partner areas but have acted as hosts to visitors or participated in letter writing, sending tapes, video conferencing, e-mail, etc.
